Apple Butter BBQ Sauce started at home with 40 pounds of apples. We peeled, cored, and then simmered them with molasses, brown sugar, cinnamon and rum – to name just some of the ingredients. Our first batch was pressure-canned, just like Mom taught us, and we debuted it at BBQ competitions. It must have been good, because we won awards when we used it!
Apple Butter BBQ Sauce is a sweet, thick, smoky BBQ sauce with an aroma of apples, cinnamon and molasses. Its flavour is balanced between tangy bite and spice, with a texture like smooth apple sauce.
Perfect for glazing grilled chicken, pork ribs, chops or tenderloin. Awesome condiment on anything grilled or wanting a rich BBQ sauce flavour.
Simmered in sautéed onions or used in hand-made burgers or meatloaf.
